Working for the Lord: Trust God He's a Man of His Word | W3 Ministries

Working for the Lord: Trust God He's a Man of His Word. Today, I sit here reflecting on the day I stumbled on Colossians 3:23 (NIV): "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not human masters."
You see, in 2018, I literally (figuratively speaking) stumbled on this verse, and I treasured it in my heart. I know the Lord placed it before me because, a few months later, He called me to become His disciple. That meant putting down my net, denying myself, and following Jesus.
I had NO idea what it really meant to be a disciple, so I went on a quest and scoured the internet. Still, my new title remained unclear. It wasn't until recently that everything finally came together. Now, I get it, I love it, and I want more of it! I get the opportunity to showcase God's glory & love for others through my work, deed, and words. I constantly ask my Abba to give me more opportunities to partner with Him. And to be honest, I don't worry about the money, because it always comes to me - like, for real!
This brings me back to 2005 and my days working at Hilton Grand Vacations Club, selling additional timeshare levels to members. One of my co-workers, Diana Marie, was a mover and shaker in the industry. She topped the charts by consistently exceeding her monthly sales goal. I sought out her advice, because, who wouldn't want to make six figures, working part-time hours? Guess what she told me?! Diana Marie encouraged me to never chase money but to focus on providing each member with excellent service. Granted, when she shared that advice with me, I struggled with making it applicable. Somewhere within those 21 years, it finally clicked, and I love it. Today, I don't chase money, I don't even pay myself from the ministry, despite the countless hours I pour into it. Here's what matters to me: encouraging women to walk boldly in their faith by deepening their relationship with Jesus to live a transformed life. The best pay is seeing their joy restored, seeing them experience "God-cidence," being liberated from anxiety, observing them walk boldly in their faith.
Is money important? Yes, yes it is! However, I don't make an idol of it, nor do I fear not having enough. To be quiet honest, I turn to Abba, my Heavenly Father and ask Him for what I want and need. I am grateful for what He supplies (even if it's not my initial desire). He always comes through and it when He does it leaves me in awe. It wasn't until today, that I studied Colossians 3:24 (NIV) "since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
So let's connect the dots from Colossians 3:23 and verse 24... Working for the Lord, means having that assurance that you will receive a reward. Perhaps the reward you are seeking is a pay increase, a promotion, favor, or recognition. Sister, be encouraged!! God sees your dedication, blood, sweat, tears - ALL the hard work you're putting in. Keep working at it with all your heart and remember verse 24: He has promised to bless you with an inheritance - a reward. Know this: God does not make empty promises - He is a God of His word! There are so many verses that supports this statement. Let's begin with Hebrews 10:23 (NIV): "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Also, Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) reminds us: "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty..."
So in closing, working for the Lord means trusting God because He's a man of His word. I mean, He did create the world and everything in it - not to mention that everything belongs to Him. So, keep trusting Him and serving Jesus Christ and don't focus on your pay, reward, or increase. He will bless you accordingly.
What are your thoughts? What are you going to do from here?
